Basketball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Starts Season with Win Against Faith Christian

Andrew Jackson Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Faith Christian Knights with points to spare, taking the game 38-22. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrew Jackson Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than McKinnley Beard, who posted seven points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks. Beard has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Bella Carrigg was another key player, putting up 12 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Andrew Jackson Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Holly Hill Academy at 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Faith Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Colleton Prep Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 22, 2026.
