St. Charles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carson City-Crystal Eagles. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Brenden Servantes spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Lucas Jastrzembowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two doubles. Those doubles were his first of the season.

St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Carson City-Crystal, they moved to 2-11 with that win, which also ended their eight-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles will host Montrose at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Carson City-Crystal, they will square off against Tri County Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
