Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Neuqua Valley). They came out on top against the Naperville Central Redhawks by a score of 11-6 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Redhawks on Tuesday, they had to take a 12-5 loss.

Joe Barkley was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Andy Barkley was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Neuqua Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Neuqua Valley's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7-1. As for Naperville Central, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neuqua Valley will welcome Oswego at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Naperville Central, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Plainfield East at 10:00 a.m. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something the Redhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
