Palmyra-Macedon dropped their record down to 9-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wayne Eagles by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Raiders, who until this match were averaging 2.83 runs allowed.

Ryan Caffyn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Wayne's side, Aidan Twist made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Twist has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Wayne is undefeated when Twist posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kahlen Clark, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gehrig Locker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Coming up, Palmyra-Macedon will venture away from home to take on Midlakes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayne, they will host Honeoye Falls-Lima at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
