Basketball Game Preview: Mesquite Skeeters vs. Cedar Hill Longhorns

The Mesquite Skeeters will head out on the road to face off against the Cedar Hill Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Hill took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mesquite, who comes in off a win.

Mesquite took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 47-27 margin over Horn. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Skeeters as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Cedar Hill faced Lancaster in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Cedar Hill came up short against Lancaster, falling 62-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Longhorns have suffered since November 1, 2024.

Cedar Hill's loss dropped their record down to 20-7. As for Mesquite, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-14.

Mesquite was taken down by Cedar Hill 78-45 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Mesquite avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
