Basketball Recap: Central Valley Picks Up Eighth Straight Win on the Road

Central Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-48 W against the Twin Loup Wolves. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.

Central Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zevan Wolf, who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Cordel Wagner was another key player, putting up six points.

Central Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 14-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

Despite the defeat, Twin Loup saw an underclassman step up: freshman Yahya Harris dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards. Harris' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luqman Harris, who scored nine points and five rebounds.

Central Valley's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points over those games.
