Volleyball Game Preview: Mabel-Canton Cougars vs. Grand Meadow Superlarks

Mabel-Canton has gone 9-1 against Grand Meadow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Superlarks at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mabel-Canton comes in on seven and Grand Meadow on 17.

Mabel-Canton won the last time they faced Spring Grove and Livia Garness did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cougars came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1 on Thursday with plenty of help from Garness, who had six digs and three aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 22-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Grand Meadow had just enough and edged out Southland 3-2 on Thursday.

Grand Meadow took Southland into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Mabel-Canton's victory bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Grand Meadow, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.

Mabel-Canton took their victory against Grand Meadow in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Superlarks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
