Basketball Recap: Central Decatur Comes Up Short

Central Decatur lost against Martensdale-St. Mary back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Central Decatur Cardinals came up short against the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils, falling 47-24. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cardinals have suffered against the Blue Devils since February 5, 2021.

Central Decatur has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Central Decatur will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Ayr at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Martensdale-St. Mary's has already played their next contest, a 53-47 victory against Collins-Maxwell on the 30th.
