Basketball Recap: Bowie Takes a Loss

Bowie lost against South Grand Prairie back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bowie Volunteers were outmatched by the South Grand Prairie Warriors and fell 63-32. While losing is never fun, the Volunteers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Warriors are ranked 40th).

Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for South Grand Prairie, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 22-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowie will venture away from home to square off against Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Grand Prairie, they are taking a road trip to take on Sam Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in South Grand Prairie's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
