Attica extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-17. They came up short against the Seeger Patriots, falling 15-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Attica saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anni Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for Seeger, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Seeger's side, Lyla Badger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Badger has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Lainie Serie and Layla Cavanaugh did most of the damage at the plate: Serie went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Cavanaugh got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Serie a new career-high. Emma Winder was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Attica has already played their next matchup, a 23-5 loss against Riverton Parke on the 22nd. As for Seeger, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Delphi Community on the 25th.
