Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Santa Fe came into this matchup off a tough 40-point loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Hawthorne Hornets by a score of 45-42 on Wednesday. The Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it eight in a row dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hawthorne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raylen Cue, who posted 23 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Brooklynn Gillins was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 17 rebounds.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Santa Fe has already played their next contest, a 39-32 defeat against Vanguard on the 20th. As for Hawthorne, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-19 loss against Forest on the 29th.
