Recap: Wicomico Indians vs. Decatur Seahawks
In what's become a running theme this season, the Wicomico Indians gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Decatur 70-38 at home. Winning may never get old, but Wicomico sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Wicomico found their leader in underclassman Se'Lah Foreman, who almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Foreman pulled down eight or more rebounds. Gabrielle Corbin was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Decatur's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allison Swift, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jozlyn Tyre, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Wicomico pushed their record up to 17-1 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.9 points. As for Decatur, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.
Wicomico will head out on the road to face off against Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wicomico's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 contests. As for Decatur, they will look to defend their home court against Wicomico at 6:00 p.m. Wicomico is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season.
