Soccer Game Preview: Vista Ridge vs. McNeil

The Vista Ridge Rangers will challenge the McNeil Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vista Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Vista Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Vandegrift, who was ranked 13th at the time (Vista Ridge was ranked fourth). Vista Ridge had just enough and edged out Vandegrift 3-2 on Friday.

Clarence Deiparine and J Mossholder scored all three of Vista Ridge's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Meanwhile, McNeil didn't have quite enough to beat Vandegrift on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Vista Ridge pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those nine contests. As for McNeil, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Vista Ridge skirted past McNeil 4-3 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vista Ridge since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
