Baseball Recap: Williamsburg Find Success

While Williamsburg's victory against Southern Huntingdon County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Biue Pirates skirted past the Rockets 16-14. With that win, the Biue Pirates brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Ethan Reffner and Konner Harker did most of the damage at the plate: Reffner went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Harker went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Reffner has become a key player for Williamsburg: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4-1 otherwise. Andrew Clark also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Williamsburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Huntingdon County only posted a batting average of .312.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 3-5-1. As for Southern Huntingdon County, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Coming up, Williamsburg will face off against Fannett Metal at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Huntingdon County, they will challenge Curwensville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
