Football Recap: Jersey Village Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Thursday just wasn't the day for Jersey Village's offense. They took a blow against the Cypress Springs Panthers on Thursday, falling 58-0. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Champion Ellis threw for 79 yards on 13 of 31 attempts. Spencer Anderson was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards. On the ground, Angel Ortega rushed for 28 yards.

Cypress Springs found their leader in sophomore Myles Hamilton, who threw for 236 yards and six TDs on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 80 yards on only six carries. Connor Patrick was in the mix too, providing the Panthers with two touchdowns.

Jersey Village now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cypress Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Jersey Village and Cypress Springs will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Falcons see the field they'll take on Northbrook at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Cypress Springs, their break will end when they face Cypress Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
