Volleyball Recap: Coleman Cougars vs. Niagara Badgers
After flying high against Saint Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, Coleman came back down to earth. The Cougars fell just short of the Niagara Badgers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Coleman sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-11.
Makenna Slaski paced Coleman's offense, picking up ten kills. Slaski got some help from Ella VanErmen and her 21 assists. Alayna Gilbertson controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Coleman's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Niagara, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Coleman has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Gillett on the 14th. As for Niagara, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Wausaukee on the 14th.
