Basketball Game Preview: Madison Bobcats vs. Canyon Ridge Riverhawks

The Madison Bobcats will take on the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Monday, Madison earned a 65-57 victory over Thunder Ridge. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Titans are ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Canyon Ridge can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over Jerome.

Canyon Ridge's win came from a few key players Madison will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mason Hill, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Kade McEntire was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 14 points and five boards.

Canyon Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Madison's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Canyon Ridge, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.
