Softball Recap: Del Oro Continues Road Dominance on Saturday

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Del Oro walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Oak Ridge Trojans 5-3. The victory was nothing new for the Golden Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Mikayla Finn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Del Oro got a big performance out of Caelyn Campos, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs. That's the most hits Campos has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Champas, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Del Oro pushed their record up to 31-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Oak Ridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 26-5 record.

As of now, neither Del Oro nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
