Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammond Morton). They put the hurt on the Merrillville Pirates with a sharp 24-10 win on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Governors in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won seven in a row.

Ei'Lani Herrera made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and nine unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
