Baseball Recap: Cliffside Park Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Cliffside Park and Dumont, and Dumont kept the tradition alive. The Raiders fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Breidy Marine led a balanced group of hitters, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. He also brought in four RBI, which is notable because Cliffside Park is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-6 otherwise. Kayden Moeller was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Cliffside Park's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-7. As for Dumont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
