Basketball Recap: Avon Takes a Loss

If Avon was riding high fresh off their 52-12 takedown of Atlantis on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Avon Panthers took a blow against the Hull Pirates on Tuesday, falling 62-30. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Avon still got an impressive performance from Hanelie Cadet, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 20 points and six blocks. With that strong performance, Cadet is now averaging an impressive 2.5 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Uwa Idada, who posted four points along with ten rebounds and six blocks.

Avon's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Hull, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Avon and Wareham will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Hull, they are taking a road trip to face off against West Bridgewater at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
