While Loris has struggled on the road with four straight losses, that wasn't the case on Tuesday thanks to JACOBIEN LEWIS. The Loris Lions managed a 63-57 win over the Waccamaw Warriors thanks in part to LEWIS, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave him a new career-high.
Another player making a difference was JAMARIUS WILSON, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Loris is 4-2 when WILSON posts eight or more boards, but 3-4 otherwise.
Waccamaw lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being AJ Grate, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Sutton Cooper was another key player, going 7 of 16 en route to 16 points.
Loris now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Waccamaw, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loris will take on Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Georgetown will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Loris surely won't give up without a fight. As for Waccamaw, they will head out on the road to square off against Aynor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Waccamaw is facing Aynor at the right time seeing as Aynor is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
