Basketball Recap: Block Island Comes Up Short

Block Island was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 78-37 loss at the hands of the Times Squared Academy Eagles. One positive for Block Island, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Times Squared Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Steven Garcia, who posted 20 points. Javohn Smith was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Block Island's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Times Squared Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Block Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against St. Patrick Academy on the 22nd. Times Squared Academy has also already played their next contest, an 85-43 victory against Blackstone Valley Prep on the 21st.
