Football Recap: D'antae Sheffey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead State College over Central Catholic + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact State College can now relate to. They lost 42-21 to the Central Catholic Vikings on Friday. The Little Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

Several Little Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D'Antae Sheffey, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of TDs. Sheffey has become a key player for State College: the team is 9-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Another passer making a difference was Connor Kulka, who threw for 216 yards and one touchdown.

Central Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chrys Black Jr, who rushed for 107 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also caught one TD. Aiden Nasiadka also helped out with an impressive 138 receiving yards.

State College's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3. As for Central Catholic, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-1.

State College does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will face off against Harrisburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Vikings 10.8, the Cougars 11.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
