Baseball Recap: Benedictine Triumphs

Benedictine got themselves on the board against Elyria Catholic on Saturday, but Elyria Catholic never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

Benedictine's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Haug, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double was Haug's first of the season.

Benedictine now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Elyria Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19-1.

Benedictine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elyria Catholic, they are taking a road trip to square off against Rocky River at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
