Soccer Game Preview: Sanger West vs. Kingsburg

The Sanger West Hornets will take on the Kingsburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sanger West is headed into the matchup without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Fowler a 2-0 shutout back in December of 2024. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Redcats are ranked 789th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Daniel Mendoza and Elijah Pimentel scored both of Sanger West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Kingsburg had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bakersfield Christian 3-2.

Sanger West is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-0-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven contests. As for Kingsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
