Basketball Recap: Ahoskie Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lilly Lassiter and Mara Dae White

Ahoskie Christian saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Epiphany Falcons. Ahoskie Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Ahoskie Christian had strong showings from Mara Dae White, who posted 25 points, and Lilly Lassiter, who earned eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Lassiter has been hot for a while, having also posted three or more blocks the last nine times she's played.

Epiphany found their leader in sophomore Kameron Bazile, who put up 19 points. With that strong performance, Bazile is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Olivia Lopez was another key player, putting up seven points.

Ahoskie Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Epiphany, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Ahoskie Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-35 win against Liberty Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Epiphany, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-39 defeat against New Bern Christian Academy on the 6th.
