Recap: Hawkins Hawks vs. Rancho Dominguez Lobos
The Hawkins Hawks had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They really took it to Rancho Dominguez for the full four quarters, racking up a 30-0 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Hawkins, who have now won five games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Amahgee Kegler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 159 yards on only six carries, while also catching a touchdown. Kegler was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Demeiko Crawford, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.
Hawkins' win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.6 points per game. As for Rancho Dominguez, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Hawkins will head out on the road to face off against Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Jordan is ranked 929th, while Hawkins is ranked 952nd). As for Rancho Dominguez, they will be playing at home against Locke at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
