Basketball Recap: Harper Comes Up Short

If Harper was feeling good fresh off their 69-27 takedown of Center Point last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Harper Longhorns were dealt a 77-36 loss at the hands of the San Saba Armadillos on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while the Armadillos are ranked 188th).

Harper has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for San Saba, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harper will challenge Junction at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Saba, they will look to defend their home court on January 17th against Goldthwaite at 6:15 p.m.
