Softball Recap: Lane Tech Champions vs. Amundsen Vikings
While Lane Tech's win against Amundsen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Champions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Vikings on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Champions have posted since April 9th.
Grace Brobson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Lane Tech is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Amundsen, they moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
