Volleyball Recap: Portage Central Comes Up Short

Portage Central lost against Byron Center back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-15.

Julie Kucera paced Portage Central's offense, picking up six kills. Kucera got some help from Catie Jilek and her nine assists. Kucera was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Portage Central now has a losing record of 18-19. As for Byron Center, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 26-4.

Portage Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Catholic Central on the 18th. Byron Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
