Paul VI had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Collegiate Cougars a 7-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Landon McGinn looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Minogue, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Jewett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Paul VI's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Paul VI nor Collegiate have any future games scheduled.
