Basketball Game Preview: Westlake Lions vs. Chapel Hill Panthers

Westlake has won five straight games at home, while Chapel Hill has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Westlake Lions duke it out with the Chapel Hill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Westlake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Westlake is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Spencer 86-53. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Greenwave are ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Chapel Hill came up short against Jonesboro on Monday and fell 66-53.

Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Westlake was able to grind out a solid victory over Chapel Hill in their previous meeting on January 7th, winning 66-58. Does Westlake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chapel Hill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
