Volleyball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sumner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tampa Bay Tech Titans. The Stingrays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Sumner couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Tampa Bay Tech a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 28-30, 25-13, 25-15, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Sumner still got an impressive performance from Alana Mitchell, who had 18 digs and three aces. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Sumner now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Tampa Bay Tech, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Sumner will challenge Gaither at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will face off against East Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
