Basketball Recap: Knightdale Piles Up the Points Against Garner

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Knightdale). They blew past the Garner Trojans 72-41 on Saturday. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 31 points or more this season.

Ayomide Adewumi continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Ja'Kiyah Moore was another key player, dropping a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists.

Despite the loss, Garner still got an impressive performance from Aniyah Williams, who posted 31 points along with eight boards and four steals. That was a full 75.6% of Garner's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for Knightdale and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Garner, they dropped their record down to 4-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Enloe the next time they take the court. Knightdale will head out to face Enloe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Garner will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
