Football Recap: Marshall County Comes Up Short on the Road Against Lincoln County + How To Watch

Marshall County kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They and the Lincoln County Falcons were almost perfectly matched up, but the Tigers suffered a 21-20 defeat. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2020.

Marshall County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tyler Thompson, who punched in two rushing scores, and Tot Gardner, who gained 109 total yards.

Carsen Carter had an outrageously good game for Lincoln County as he rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Carter a new career-high. Lincoln County also got a significant boost from Cayden Maxwell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Looking ahead, Marshall County will welcome Shelbyville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln County, they will venture away from home to face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
