The Palmer Ridge Bears will take on the Thomas Jefferson Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Palmer Ridge can't be too worried about heading out to take on Thomas Jefferson: they just beat Cheyenne Mountain at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Palmer Ridge walked away with a 60-53 win over Cheyenne Mountain on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Logan Boyer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, to rack up 27 points and five rebounds. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Lukas Pears was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards.
Meanwhile, Thomas Jefferson waltzed into their match on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with a 59-37 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.
Palmer Ridge better keep an eye on Zack Vanabbema. He was instrumental in Thomas Jefferson's win, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 20 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Vanabbema a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Mosely Rowekamp, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.
Thomas Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.
Thomas Jefferson's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Palmer Ridge, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Palmer Ridge has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 34.2% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Thomas Jefferson, though, as they've only made 27.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given Palmer Ridge's sizable advantage in that area, Thomas Jefferson will need to find a way to close that gap.
Palmer Ridge and Thomas Jefferson were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Palmer Ridge came up empty-handed after a 42-41 loss. Can Palmer Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
