Softball Recap: Apollo Takes a Loss

Apollo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-3 to the Shadow Ridge Stallions. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Stallions when the teams met back in March of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Apollo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Veloz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Shadow Ridge, they pushed their record up to 11-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Apollo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
