Softball Recap: Argos Takes a Loss

Tippecanoe Valley hit Argos with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dragons took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Dragons have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Adelyn Lewark and Ava Stackhouse stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lewark went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Stackhouse went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Stackhouse is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Grace Thomas was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Argos' loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Argos will head out on the road to square off against Oregon-Davis at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will host Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
