Basketball Recap: Sequoyah Piles Up the Points Against Alpharetta

On Friday, everything came up roses for the Sequoyah Chiefs against the Alpharetta Raiders as the team secured an 88-55 victory. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while the Raiders are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sequoyah is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.3 points. As for Alpharetta, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Sequoyah won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Gwinnett at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Sequoyah's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Alpharetta, they and Cambridge will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
