Basketball Recap: Wantagh's Run of Eight Straight Wins Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Wantagh couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ardsley Panthers on Saturday. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ardsley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Iva Corluka, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Corluka has scored at least a third of Ardsley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joie M. Levy, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

With the loss, Wantagh broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-3. As for Ardsley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.
