Basketball Recap: Ontario Takes a Loss

Ontario won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were beaten by the River Valley Vikings 72-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost seven in a row.

River Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Myers led the charge by going 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Smith, who went 6 for 10 en route to 14 points.

Ontario's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for River Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Ontario has already played their next match (against Clear Fork), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. River Valley will take on Pleasant at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in River Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
