Baseball Recap: Como Park Comes Up Short

If Como Park was feeling good fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Camden on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 9-5 to the Concordia Academy Beacons on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 18-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Joseph Thomas made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of John Corniea, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Como Park's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coming up, Como Park will square off against Minneapolis South at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Concordia Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
