The Mountain View Mountain Lions will venture away from home to take on the Discovery Canyon Thunder at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mountain View's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
Mountain View is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Ponderosa by a score of 67-54.

Mountain View relied on the efforts of Cole Tonniges, who went 8-for-9 en route to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, and Dylan Garland, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 20 points and three steals. Tonniges has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Jalen Sanchez was another key player, putting up five points.
Mountain View was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are 8-1 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Discovery Canyon's strategy against Lewis-Palmer last Wednesday. Discovery Canyon enjoyed a cozy 54-37 victory over Lewis-Palmer. The win was some much needed relief for the Thunder as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Mountain View better keep an eye on Noah Eckels. He was instrumental in Discovery Canyon's win, going 9-for-15 on his way to 20 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Aiden Hayler, who posted nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points over those games. Discovery Canyon's record now sits at 16-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mountain View has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Discovery Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 24.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mountain View and Discovery Canyon were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, but Mountain View came up empty-handed after a 64-63 loss. Can Mountain View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
