Baseball Game Preview: O'Fallon Panthers vs. Collinsville Kahoks

The O'Fallon Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Collinsville Kahoks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Sacred Heart-Griffin hit O'Fallon with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cyclones. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

O'Fallon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Vanderheyden, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Collinsville's offense. They fell just short of Alton by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Kahoks have suffered against the Redbirds since May 20, 2021.

O'Fallon's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Collinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

O'Fallon was able to grind out a solid win over Collinsville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Kahoks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
