Softball Recap: Mia Pearson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lakeland Preparatory

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Milan brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lakeland Preparatory Lions a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Camryn Green was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mia Pearson was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with six stolen bases and three runs. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Rushing, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Milan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland Preparatory only posted an OBP of .071.

Milan's record now sits at 25-11. As for Lakeland Preparatory, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-3.

As of now, neither Milan nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
