Eastlake had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bel Air Highlanders 62-7 on the road. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Luke Lomeli was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 283 yards and four touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jayden Sharpe was another key player, picking up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Eastlake's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Moises Rivera and Jamir Singfield. Diego Holguin was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles and defending a pass.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eastlake was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 588 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bel Air only gained 247.

As for Bel Air, they will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Socorro at 7:00 p.m. on September 13th.
