Coming off a huge senior season at Chaminade (St. Louis, Mo.), Jayson Tatum showed why he is one of the nation's best high school basketball prospects Wednesday night at the McDonald's All-American Game in Chicago.

The 6-foot-8 wing scored 18 points while adding five rebounds and three assists. Tatum's effort for the East wasn't enough, however, as the West team prevailed 114-107.

Headed to Duke, Tatum averaged 29.5 points per game at Chaminade this season and led the Red Devils to Missouri's Class 5 state title. He is regarded as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2016 class by 247Sports.

The McDonald's All-American Game is high school basketball's most prestigious postseason contest. Past participants include LeBron James, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan.
