Volleyball Recap: Saint Francis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Presentation last Thursday, Saint Francis came back down to earth. The Lancers fell 3-1 to the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Saint Francis ultimately came up short, they really made St. Ignatius College Preparatory work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Saint Francis' loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saint Francis will take on rival Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory is set to square off against their familiar foe Archbishop Riordan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
