Baseball Game Preview: Verbena Red Devils vs. Comer Tigers

The Verbena Red Devils will square off against the Comer Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Friday, Verbena didn't have quite enough to beat Holy Spirit Catholic and fell 3-2.

Verbena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Coggins, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Comer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 18-2 to Fayetteville.

Verbena came out on top in a nail-biter against Comer in their previous matchup back in March of 2015, sneaking past 5-3. Will Verbena repeat their success, or does Comer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
